Inclusion and Employment Awareness:
Information Session For Educators
September 25, 2024
11:00AM-12:00PM
You are invited to join ODEN to learn more about the Inclusion and Employment Awareness– Transition To Work for Students with Developmental Disabilities; a project funded by Ontario’s Ministry of Education.
This initiative will create accessible, digital resources for families, caregivers, students, and educators across Ontario to assist and address transitions for students with developmental disabilities, at all stages of their school journey (JK to Grade 12), so that employment is considered a viable goal following graduation.
The resources will be available in the Fall of 2024 and in both English and French.
In this webcast, educators and school staff will learn about the resources created in this project including digital learning modules such as “Disability Awareness and Confidence for Educators Working with Students who have Developmental Disabilities” and “Employment The GOLD Standard For Inclusion”, Tip Sheets for Having Supportive and Courageous Conversations and Case Studies of Partnerships between Employment Service Providers and School Boards and the impact on employment outcomes for this student population. Participants will also learn about content that is accessible for families, caregivers and students across Ontario.
The resources are available at no cost and will be hosted in ODEN’s Learning Centre (learn.odenetwork.com).The session will have ASL interpretation and close captioning.
