Information Session - Disability Awareness and Confidence Training For The Canadian Youth Success Strategy Project

May 7, 2024
12:00pm - 12:45pm ET

Hosted by: Jennifer Crowson, Project Lead, Canadian Youth Success Strategy

Almost 27% of Canadians identify themselves as having a disability. 20% of Canadian youth have a disability. People who have a disability can work, want to work, and make a positive contribution to the workplace.

A report by the Canadian Federation of Independent Business in 2023 notes that small businesses in Canada missed over $38 billion in revenue opportunities in 2022 because they had to turn down or postpone contracts or sales due to labour shortages. Businesses of all sizes can mitigate market share losses by increasing their understanding of disability and how to engage this talent source.

Join us to learn how you can access free training to increase your disability confidence to hire youth who have a disability.

ASL and closed captioning will be available for this session.
